Couldn’t make it to Brixton Academy last month for The xx’s eight night residency? You’re in luck! The British trio have just released a documentary entitled Night + Day featuring personal interviews with the band, behind the scenes footage, and choice cameos by the likes of Florence Welch, Robyn and Savages’ Jehnny Beth. More than just shows with illustrious musical guests, the residency also offered film screenings, talks and community-focused projects.
Night + Day was partially a celebration of the band’s third studio album I See You. If you’re itching to see them live in the coming months, they’ll be headlining this year's edition of Glastonbury Festival and playing a slew of European dates, in addition to concerts across the US and Canada in April and May. According to their tweet above, Night + Day will return “in the near future,” so fear not if you experience post-residency FOMO while watching the 20 minute documentary.
