Location: Tokyo, Japan

Season: SS19

Key Looks: An open-toe, wide-legged all-black fit in slide #7 is a classic under the radar look for summertime, while there’s a monochromatic spin on the enduring tie-dye trend in slide #15.

Editor’s Notes: Our photographer on the ground Nicolas “Yuthanan” Chalmeau has captured the best street style from Tokyo in July. As per usual for this series, we like to focus on the more low-key outfits that highlight personal style over clout-chasing brand names and big logos.

There’s a wave of dual-patterned pants in the Japanese capital right now, with clashing styles being worn on each leg. There’s also a throwback to the hippie style of the ’60s, mainly the daisy flower patches and flared jeans in slide #18, which have been complemented with the hottest accessory of recent times: a reusable bottle of water.
