Tom Sachs‘ “Tea Ceremony” exhibition opens in Japan tomorrow, April 20, after previously being shown in the United States. On display at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, the installation will be viewable through June 23.

Tom Sachs is a professed practicer of the ancient tea ceremony, valuing its impact on human activity. In “Tea Ceremony,” Sachs uses his unique perspective to reflect the image of Japan and one of its most common practices.

The exhibition includes a series of 2019 artworks by Sachs, including his Comin’ Home, McDonald’s, Untitled, and Tres Genereaciones canvas creations. The Tokyo installation kicks off with public tea ceremony demonstrations on April 20 at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. (Japan time).

Again, Tom Sachs’ “Tea Ceremony” is on display at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery from April 20 through June 23.

Not NYC, not LA.
