As the web of lies and intrigue surrounding President Trump's inner circle, and links to Russian intelligence services grows simultaneously more mysterious and apparent, Stephen Colbert has found a creative way of laying out all of the evidence. FBI and CIA — you might want to take notes here.
Colbert began The Late Show on Wednesday night by turning the 1995 classic The Usual Suspects into a thriller about Trump campaign aides’ contacts with those pesky Russians. While under interrogation by Chazz Palminteri’s detective (using the original footage,) Colbert argues that evidence of the collusion was right under his nose from the very start.
“You’re just not listening! I’ve been telling you for like a year! There’s something weird going on between Trump and the Russians!” Colbert says. Two days after the resignation of Michael T. Flynn as national security adviser, this sketch nails it. Watch it above.
