Tumblr is making moves to prohibit pornography and other adult content on its site from December 17, CBS News reports. The rule overhaul comes shortly after the Tumblr app was pulled from Apple’s App Store due to pornographic images of children making it past the site’s filters.

In a blog post, Tumblr CEO Jeff D’Onofrio wrote, “We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.”

Some people on other social platforms expressed themselves unhappy at the decision, however. A number of Twitter users showed their frustration that adult content would now be censored, with many Tumblr users having used the platform to showcase their own adult materials.
