Good news, Diane — the Twin Peaks revival finally has a premiere date, and it's a lot sooner than we thought. Showtime has revealed the first two episodes of the show's third season will debut on May 21 at 9pm. The third and fourth episodes will reportedly become available online immediately after the premiere.

The news follows co-creator/director David Lynch’s surprise appearance at the Television Critics Association press tour where, in typical Lynchian fashion, he spoke a lot about the 18 new hour-long episodes without giving anything at all away. On what audiences should expect stylistically, he said: “This word ‘expect’ is a magical word. People expect things, and their expectations are met hopefully when they see the thing.”

Later, after Lynch left and several of his actors took the stage, a reporter asked if Lynch is more communicative with them than he was with us, to which Kyle MacLachlan replied, “You guys got a lot. He must really like you.”

In addition to key members of the original cast, the show will reportedly feature Trent Reznor, Sky Ferreira, Eddie Vedder, and a handful of other musicians. The series’ original composer, Angelo Badalamenti, is also confirmed to return.
