Up-and-coming Chinese designer Uma Wang unveils her SS17 women's collection in Milan, and, according to her label's press release, "travels deep into the infinitum of the desert, seeking out insights from the rise and fall of bygone ancient civilizations and the mankind’s unyielding faith under the unforgiving harshness of the nature."

Press release jargon aside, Wang's collection is all about abstract, flowing silhouettes. Prints inspired by fabrics found in various north African towns are used in conjunction with Wang's sculptural interpretations of diaphanous tunic dresses and kaftans, which are given extra dimensions thanks to some intricate back detailing.
