Brand: Umbro x Christopher Raeburn
Key Pieces: The capsule collection references UK sportswear brand Umbro’s past life as England national team kit supplier, with all pieces comprising elements of old England uniforms. We dig the multi-numbered sweater and the backpack marked with Frank Lampard’s old England number eight.
Release Date: Available now.
The two British labels have joined forces to create a capsule that embraces Raeburn’s “remade, reduced, recycled” aesthetic, and champions Umbro’s one-time association with the England national team. Deconstructing jerseys from 1996 to 2010, the garments serve up sentimentality for England fans eager to recall an 18-year-old Michael Owen’s wonder goal against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup, and 2001’s 5-1 destruction of Germany in a World Cup qualifier in Munich.
Sporting red, white, grey, and blue colorways, pieces have been disassembled and restructured to create playful takes on iconic England uniforms. The garments are made from organic cotton and recycled blend.
