Following last summer‘s drop, Japanese high street retailer Uniqlo is back with its SPRZ NY line, celebrating the 5th anniversary of the ongoing project. For the uninitiated, SPRZ NY (which stands for “Surprise New York”) is part of a global fashion-meets-art project, comprised of T-shirts that pay homage to some of the Big Apple’s most influential artists.
Much like last year, the latest SPRZ NY line includes prints inspired by Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Andy Warhol, as well as new tees highlighting the works of Sol Lewitt and Eames. Standout pieces from the drop include Basquiat tees featuring embroidered crowns and dinosaurs, as well as printed sketches, and a Haring-inspired tee that sports his iconic “Statue of Liberty” drawing from 1986.
The entire SPRZ NY collection is available to shop right now, with all tees retailing for a super-affordable $14.90. Peep some of our favorite tees from the drop below, and click through to cop a wardrobe addition that doubles as a classic art piece.
And, if you happen to live in NYC, Uniqlo is hosting a special launch event on February 15 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its SRPZ NY line. The event will take place at Uniqlo’s 5th Avenue flagship from 6 to 8 pm EST, with exclusive art installations, music, and more. Be one of the first 500 attendees and you’ll receive a free gift from MoMa Design Store.
