While Team USA failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1986, Nike has some good news. They just unveiled the newest Team USA uniforms, which will debut on the pitch this week during their international friendly match against Paraguay on Tuesday, March 27. The U.S. Women’s National Team will debut the home uniform on field, on April 5 against Mexico.
With the pieces featuring Nike‘s Fast Fit Vaporknit and flaunting a patriotic palette of red, white, and blue, the U.S. kits are also highlighted with the U.S. soccer motto of “One Nation, One Team,” emblazoned on the inner neck line of home and away jerseys with a stylized version of the country’s signature bird, the American eagle.
Additionally, the kits are detailed with 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies, forming the unique inner pride graphic on the 2018 USA home jersey, while a custom USA icon inspired by NASA Space Mission badges appears on the 2018 USA away shirt. The stripes on the home kit shift from red to blue in a subtle, modern interpretation of the American flag.
The custom name and number set for the federation features typography inspired by muscle car emblems, with racing stripes and an inset star pattern.
