If, like me, you've gone full eco-warrior after watching Leonardo DiCaprio's excellent climate change documentary for National Geographic, you'll be pleased to learn Vespa, the manufacturer of the coolest motherfucking scooters on the planet, is finally working with electric motors.

The Vespa Elettrica will run on a full electric motor (it's the first electric scooter Vespa has ever produced) and the Italian company claims it will deliver all the same style and maneuverability that we've come to expect, but with a cheaper-to-run, eco-friendly powerplant. There's also set to be "innovative connectivity solutions," which presumably means it will hook up to your smartphone somehow.

Other than that, all we have so far is a not-so-high quality 800 by 533 pixel image, and a few grandiose statements, but that's enough to know this thing is going to be incredible. Just look how graceful it looks.

The Elettrica should be ready sometime in the second half of 2017. Vespa hasn't divulged pricing just yet but, as a general rule, when it comes to electrified vehicles you can expect it'll be a costly sum.
