Editor’s Notes: Newcomer menswear designer Victor Li shares his third seasonal collection, here for Spring/Summer 2020. Upon launching in 2018, the New York City-based label has already been worn by the likes of Nick Jonas, Lucky Blue Smith, KJ Apa, and Daveed Diggs, among others. At the core, Victor Li is a brand inspired by travel and geared towards the next generation of gentlemen.
Victor Li SS20 pulls inspiration from the desert landscape and artisinal crafts of Marrakech. Taking cues from Victor’s personal collection of photographs, the range is characterized by a balanced color palette and refreshing graphics. The illustrative motifs found on the seasonal knitwear reference intricately-carved arabesque patterns and hand-knotted rugs, while custom jacquards and prints draw from abstract desert landscapes and artisanal crafts.
Relaxed silhouettes take center stage in Victor Li’s SS20 assortment, ranging from billowy trench coats to drop-shoulder robes. Subtle patchwork detail and intricate stitching then offer the garments a rustic feel.
