Following a co-headlining tour with Tyler, the Creator, and ahead of next month’s Coachella performance, Vince Staples is taking time to look further down the road, so far in fact that he’s now thinking about retirement. In response to recent criticism, the California rapper has just launched a GoFundMe page, encouraging his haters to “get off of my d***, or fund my lifestyle.”
Vince is ultimately asking for $2 million USD to shut up forever. “On GoFundMe.com you can decide to donate to the cause of 2 million dollars, which will allow me to shut the fuck up forever and you will never hear from me again,” he says. “No songs, no interviews, no anything. If not, you can choose to let me do what the fuck I want to do, when I want to do it.”
The decision to start the GoFundMe comes following complaints about recent concerts and production choices. “I think one person said ‘it sounds like we’re rapping on robot video game beats.’ We would like to apologize for that,” Staples added.
To hear from the man himself, press play above, then follow on over to his GoFundMe page to aid in his early retirement.
