Virgil Abloh himself has taken to Twitter to expose a pair of fake Prestos from Abloh’s sneaker collaboration with Nike, “The Ten.”
Currently, sneaker leaks are creating a smoke-storm of misinformation around colorways and release dates, and obviously Abloh’s highly coveted re-designs of Nike sneakers are inspiring tons of bootleggers to cash in on the demand.
One particular Presto colorway has been circulating for a few weeks, and now Abloh has called out images of the shoe as untrustworthy, by saying “the “zip-tie” is the fastest way to tell if they are real or not…” This doesn’t necessarily mean that particular colorway won’t eventually see a release date, but images shared by Instgram account @pinoe77 show fake product, according to Abloh.
As always, it’s best to defer to brands and approved retailers for accurate information, rather than taking Instagram leaks as gospel.
