From casual shoppers, to fans trying to cop exclusive drops, to many designers, were all in attendance creating a social hub that blurred the lines of streetwear culture and the high-end retail marketplace into one. We partnered up with Barneys for the two-day shopping event that saw the release of 30 exclusive capsule collections from labels like OFF-WHITE, 424, FEAR OF GOD, and more.
The hardest working man in fashion right now, Virgil Abloh was also in attendance. Abloh is an artist of with hands in all things creative. He’s Kanye West’s creative director, in-demand DJ, blockbuster-show producer, and most recently, designer for a line of streetwear that launched in 2013. Mixing provocatively printed T-shirts with athletic hoodies and oversized flannel shirts, OFF-WHITE c/o VIRGIL ABLOH is setting new standards in urban apparel.
At [email protected], Abloh stayed pretty busy. From djing with Heron Preston to displaying his exclusive collection with Barneys to snapping photos with the thousands of fans in attendance, he’s always on the move.
Luckily, he had a few minutes to spare to sit down with Highsnobiety’s Jeff Carvalho and Barneys’ Jackie Kim for a quick chat on fashion.
