visvim‘s SS19 Collage series showcases original custom-developed textiles ranging from veggie dyed hand-spun and hand-woven fabric, to polka dot fabric printed with natural cochineal dye, a linen material in a check pattern, and striped hand-woven cotton twill. These material applications can be seen on both apparel and footwear styles.
A standout from visvim’s SS19 Collage collection is the MA-1 Jacket with collage details on both elbows and a “PEERLESS” graphic which has been drawn by hand. The outerwear is predominantly constructed from a high-density nylon twill fabric, while a mud-dye finishing technique allows the complementary fabric to give off a natural organic expression that cannot be reproduced with synthetics.
The Meckel Parka serves as another go-to outerwear offering from the Collage assortment. This piece also welcomes the “PEERLESS” graphic, here hand-painted on the armband. The main fabric is a blend of specially twisted cotton warp and nylon weft that gives a smooth touch.
In addition to the apparel, which also includes a T-shirt and hoodie, visvim debuts the FBT Collage-Folk W. One of the brand’s most iconic models, the moccasin-style shoe boasts a fabric collage on the fringe detail. Vegetable tanned cow suede covers the upper of the sneaker, which also notes a grippy custom-designed sole and Vibram outsole.
Joining the FBT Collage-Folk W are the Roland Jogger Collage and the Christo Collage. The Roland features an upper crafted from vegetable tanned cow leather, with a Native American headpiece embroidery patch on the side. The sneaker is completed with an EVA midsole and a custom outsole made by Vibram. The Christo Collage sandal then has a molded EVA midsole wrapped in veggie-tanned cow suede, providing unmatched shock absorption.
