The canvas sneaker game may be owned by Converse, but designs from the higher-end brands out there can add a touch of luxury to your casual summer ’fits that certainly won’t go unnoticed. Case in point: these visvim Prisma Lace-Up Folk sneakers. They may have a few hundred bucks on the humble Chuck Taylor, but as far as casual summer sneakers go, we may have a winner.
Selling for the not-so-wallet-friendly price of $914.75, Hiroki Nakamura’s Tokyo-based menswear brand visvim’s latest collection includes two colorways of the canvas shoe — all black and khaki — both featuring metallic eyelets, rope-inspired laces and a platform outsole reminiscent of those usually found on espadrilles.
Earlier this year, you may have seen visvim’s Chuck Taylor All-Star high-top design — the Skagway Kiltie. The low-key sneaker came in cream and black colorways and dropped at the similarly luxe price point of $710.
In our eyes, however, if you have the dollar to drop on a summer investment piece, the Prismas take the cake. Feast your eyes on the two models below, and let us know if you’ll be copping in the comments.
