Volkswagen has officially unveiled its long-range I.D. electric concept car ahead of its grand reveal at Thursday's Paris Motor Show.

Featuring an electric motor with a battery range between 249 and 373 miles, Volkswagen has additionally announced that the concept car will be released in 2020 as a parallel to the company's famous Golf compact car. While the 2020 model will only offer a glimpse into the fully automated driving that will arrive in 2025, the I.D. is still very much something to get excited about.

Two of the car's most exciting features are the additions of a steering wheel that can retract into the car's dashpad (new speak for dashboard) when in the automated driving mode, and delivery service function that can receive packages when its owner isn't home.
