Alongside groceries, electronics and pet food, you'll soon be able to buy upscale fashion online with the retailer Walmart.
In partnership with Lord & Taylor – the oldest luxury department store in the United States – Walmart will host a catalog of its high-end fashion pieces at its online store. Denise Incadela, head of fashion for Walmart's U.S. e-commerce, reported: "We see customers on our site searching for higher-end items, and we are expanding our business online to focus on adding specialized and premium shopping experiences, starting with fashion."
With a planned launch for Spring 2018, Walmart shoppers will soon be able to access premium labels through the retailer's app and website. This is a huge step for the company, whose projected sales are likely to increase after recent purchases of online stores Bonobos and Mod Cloth. It seems there's a growing market for online luxury fashion.
At this time, it's not clear which labels will be available to the public. Lord & Taylor currently host well-respected brands such as Vera Wang, Kate Spade and Polo Ralph Lauren. Either way, we're sure it's going to be a treat. Keep it locked here for more updates.
