As a follow-up to Wes Anderson’s intricate Isle of Dogs set exhibition in London’s The Store x 180 The Strand, Fox Searchlight pictures have recently shared footage providing a behind-the-scenes look at how the film’s puppets were made.

In this new clip, fans of the stop motion animation feature are greeted with Andy Gent, who heads a team responsible for the making and delivery of the film’s characters. With nearly 900 characters and over 1000 facial-expressions to cater for, the majority of the puppet creation is done by hand as opposed to the use of 3D printing.

Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs is in theaters now.
