Growing up in the San Joaquin Valley will teach you a thing or two about dressing for the warm weather. Luckily for us, designer Willy Chavarria has decided to share some of the things he picked up from his Californian past. And as the SS16 lookbook for his eponymous collection shows, he deftly updates Chicano streetwear into a fresh line of chic menswear.

Titled “Cholo Les Chic,” the collection offers a wide variety of apparel that is unified by oversized and slouchy silhouettes. Made from Japanese cotton/nylon and adorned with Brooklyn-made wooden buttons, the spread of pieces includes T-shirts with back pleats, drop-shoulder topcoats, knee-length shorts and deep-pleated trousers.
