Wonder Woman 2 will take place in 1984. That much was confirmed when DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns took to Facebook to reveal the film’s logo on Friday.
The logo is a static image that reads “WW84” and reminds of old VHS tapes and the TV “snow” that was commonplace on our screens before the invention of HD viewing.
While it was already known that Wonder Woman 2 would take place during the Cold War of the ’80s, the logo gives a much more exact time period in which we can expect Gal Gadot to save the world.
This also means that the sequel will take place around 60 years after the original, which was set during World War 1.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019, starring Gal Gadot as Diana with support from Kristin Wiig and Narcos star Pedro Pascal.
