Brand: Y,IWO (Yeah, I Work Out)
Season: Exclusive summer capsule for Dover Street Market
Key Pieces: All three pieces that feature the iconic drawings of legendary bodybuilder Ric Drasin feel like both homage and parody of an era gone by at the same time. Love it.
Release Date: June 14
Editor’s Note: Upcoming New York streetwear brand Y,IWO teams up with artist and bodybuilder Ric Drasin on an exclusive DSM collection set to debut on June 14. Drasin designed the original Gold’s Gym logo and was a fixture among the bodybuilders of Venice’s Muscle Beach in the 1970s and ’80s.
Y,IWO’s collaboration with Ric Drasin features three of his iconic drawings resurrected from his 1980s label
Big Boy Clothing. The designs are featured on an assortment of made-in-the-USA cotton tees, and baggy style nylon beach shorts. Each item is available in a black/gradient option taken from Drasin’s 1980s label Big Boy Clothing. Tees will also be available in white/neon green, white/red and white/black. Shorts will come in coral/black and black/white.
Additional items include all new Y,IWO muscle pants in black/white and a new motivational white/black printed “Pump Iron Today” tee and the return of the signature “Stay Pumped” stringer tank tops and silky quad shorts in black/white. Simple logo basics include a pair of black/white sweat shorts, a heavy-weight white/black hoodie and sweatpants, and the introduction of two basic logo pocket tees.
To coincide with the collection launch, Y,IWO will release a collectible LTD lookbook, zine and poster,
featuring photography by Bruno Staub and styling by Jay Massacret. The zine and collection will be available
at yeahiworkout.com and Dover Street Market LA beginning June 14 and at additional DSM locations globally in July.
