In case you hadn't noticed, YouTube has rolled out a new redesign, which also includes a special nighttime "Dark Theme." The mode is designed to provide viewers with a more cinematic experience, all while keeping your eyes from straining.

Ultimately, "Dark Theme" makes all of the lighter areas of the page dark.

For now, however, the new nighttime viewing mode is only available for desktop, and there is no word if it will be making its way to the mobile platform.

In addition to "Dark Theme," the YouTube update welcomes Google's Material Design, a more intuitive user interface, as you can also speed up and slow down the playback of a video, as well as view suggested videos while watching clips in full screen.

For the mobile app, you can now double tap on the left or the right side of the screen to either fast forward or rewind 10 seconds.
