If you noticed issues with YouTube, Snapchat, and Gmail yesterday you're not alone. Many web users experienced outages and it's being traced back to the Google Cloud.

While the problem was concentrated around the East Coast of the US, YouTube and Gmail users across Europe also reported disruptions.

At one point it seemed as though every single service in Google's G Suite Status dashboard was having issues. But it was services like YouTube and Snapchat, which are also powered through Google, that really had the internet losing its collective mind.

Google reportedly attributed the outages to “high levels of network congestion in the eastern USA.” They told the Verge, “We will conduct a post mortem and make appropriate improvements to our systems to prevent this from happening again.”
