Where the runway meets the street

A new one for these pages, designer Hajime Inouie’s Japanese denim line, TCB, take their blue pretty seriously. A small scale workshop based in Kojima, Okayama, an area famed for its jean production, a few trained workers construct each piece, all derived from Inouie’s vast vintage collection. Here we look at some classic items. A pleated Type 2 Zimbabwe 3.5 oz selvedge denim jacket, a clean version of the lightweight USN deck jacket, 11.3 oz American selvedge denim coveralls and two versions of their incredible jeans, 1950s and 1960s cut, modelled on the standard Levi’s 501 from the period. One for the denim obsessives out there, see the line in our gallery and find them all here.
