Musician Ryuichi Sakamoto gets help from Oliver Peoples to push the initiative of his global environmental awareness and recovery foundation, moreTrees. As the name suggests, the organization seeks to plant more trees around the world to avoid any extinction of natural resources. Oliver Peoples create three eyewear styles made of locally sourced Japanese cedar, timber and “bio plastic” produced in an environmentally friendly way. The frames are handmade in Sabae, Fukui, and come in a limited number of 100 each. Available at OP’s Tokyo store this month.
