The House in Sha Tin is situated in the Hong Kong district of its name, and was designed by local firm Millimeter Interior Design Limited. Adapting an already existing 40-year-old structure, the redesign incorporates a sustainable green approach, reducing environmental impact. The facade has been built over the preexisting walls, giving a new appearance and reducing waste. LED lights have been incorporated into the chrome garage resulting in a futuristic look, while a small maple tree has been planted in the central annex of the house. Other environmentally friendly features include lights turning off automatically when no one is present in a room, aluminum panels that prevent heat from the sun entering the house and reducing air conditioner usage, and large solar panels that provide energy to the home.
