Stanley Kubrick is championed as one of the most important and influential filmmakers of all time (The Shining, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange), but we’re not here to talk movies. We came across this photo editorial produced for Look magazine by the late legend when he was a mere 18 years old. Kubrick went on to shoot for the magazine from 1945 to 1950 boasting the highest number of published editorials out of any photographer — and did we mention he was the youngest? Sounds like a prodigy in the making. See his work above to get a glimpse at the New York Subway system in the 1940s.
