Brooklyn-based sneaker company GREATS have created an updated version of star running back Marshawn Lynch’s BEASTMODE Royale Chukka. In addition to rejuvenating the silhouette with smooth Italian nubuck, a black calf-leather lining stitched with bar tacks in gold thread, “B” branding on the tongue cut from leather, and a gold-stamped Beast Mode logo, GREATS partnered with new companies Chronicled and Identiv Labs to bolster the Royale with never-before-seen technologies.

The Royale 2.0 is equipped with a smart tag that delineates its limited edition number and digital profile. iPhone or Android users can scan the tag to interact with exclusive content and buyers of the same pair.

Secondly, each chip is systemized into an open registry on the Ethereum blockchain, a digital deed of title, making it unreplicable while helping to confirm its authenticity when up for resale or trade.

The BEASTMODE 2.0 Royale Chukka will be released on November 27 through the GREATS webstore for a retail price of $199 USD.
