The Danish aesthetic, much like the Scandinavian one as a whole, doesn’t necessarily subscribe to any one genre. There are a broad range of exciting designers – both old and new – each of whom exhibit different traits, be it an affinity for avant-garde design, like Han Kjøbenhavn, or the trademark minimalist tradition.

Attendees of this year’s Copenhagen Fashion Week struck a nice balance between the two aesthetics, without drifting too close to the extremes of any one side. While some street-centric outfits were infused with high-end designer pieces, the opposite also rang true, affirming the notion that fashion spheres can find a common ground without looking too peculiar.
