After years of countless missed opportunities and hundreds of memes later, Leonardo DiCaprio finally took home an Oscar for Best Actor at the 88th Annual Academy Awards. The triumphant win was due to Leo's gripping performance in Alejandro G. Iñárritu's period survival film, The Revenant, where the actor was viciously ravaged by a grizzly bear, left for dead by his colleagues and forced to crawl his way back home through punishing winter temperatures. So yeah, we'd say that Leo's win was warranted and long overdue.

Naturally, the internet erupted with a deluge of celebratory tweets, Instagrams and memes to rejoice (and parody) Leo's long-awaited feat. So while we pour one out for the notorious "where's Leo's Oscar" gag, here are some of the best memes honoring the newbie Oscar owner.
