Barely a week after celebrating its 106-year anniversary, Hamburg’s ultimate cult, left-wing football club, FC St. Pauli, is releasing another limited-edition update to hummel’s iconic '80s runner: the Marathona.

Dubbed the hummel x FC St. Pauli "Marathona II," it's at least the second time the two have collaborated, with this year's silhouette dropping in just 80 pairs at Hamburg’s glOry hOle sneaker store tomorrow, May 21.

Daubed in matte-black, with accents of red through the laces and sole, the sneaker is a nod to the colors of football’s number one bastion of progressive politics and thought (after, maybe, longstanding club friends Celtic FC), and is dedicated to supporters and sneakerheads in the city. The silhouette features the club’s stitched logo on the tongue, with "ST.PAULI" appearing on the heel counter.

If you can’t get down to glOry hOle in person but you still wanna show some love, the Millerntor Stadium’s official FC St. Pauli merch store is selling limited edition "Refugees Welcome" football scarves with all proceeds going towards local refugee projects in Hamburg.

The hummel x FC St. Pauli "Marathona II" is released as part of the HUMMEL HIVE project, and we interviewed the guys who are running it.
