While the Suicide Squad fervor is dying down as the film reaches the half-billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office, Jared Leto has once again piled onto criticism of the film by insinuating that his acceptance of the role as The Joker was one littered with false promises.
While attending a Q&A session at last weekend’s “Camp Mars,” - a three-day wilderness retreat devoted to Leto's band Thirty Seconds To Mars - he reportedly voiced displeasure with the experience and the film.
According to a fan’s account of the event, Leto said he felt “sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently.”
The fan account also added that Leto still has not seen the theatrical cut of the movie and is basing his disappointment on what has been relayed to him by others.
During an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live earlier this month Jared Leto insisted that he’d shot a multitude of scenes as The Joker that were eventually left on the cutting room floor, even going as far as to insist “there’s probably enough footage in this film for a Joker movie.”
