HUMMEL HIVE's collaboration with LA-based boutique FourTwoFour on Fairfax and Storm Copenhagen pays tribute to hummel's footballing roots. With the collection dropping today, we took a closer look at the Diamant and Marathona II tonal sneakers.

Swedish footwear designer Erik Bjerkesjö delved into hummel’s archives which date back more than 90 years. Bjerkesjö found the Diamant, a groundbreaking performance sneaker created for Germany’s national handball team in 1957. hummel and Bjerkesjö updated the original minimalist design with a knitted upper, suede heel counter, and modern vulcanized sole.

Another archive inspired silhouette, hummel’s Marathona II is an update on the brand's iconic ’80s runner. The original receives a butter soft leather upgrade with molded EVA sole and an overlay strap acknowledging the brand's classic football boots. Both silhouettes come in tonal white.

HUMMEL HIVE explores the intersection between past and future, sports culture and fashion culture. Founded in 2016, HUMMEL HIVE comprises a collective of multi-disciplinary artists and designers based in hummel's creative studio. They offer collaborations, independent collections, and relaunches from hummel’s vast archive.

The sneakers will be available globally from August 26 at selected retailers listed below.
