Tune in and turn up

Nine Inch Nails and Massive Attack have just been announced as performers at Banksy’s new hotel. Banksy returned to Instagram last week after a two year absence to announce a new endeavour – “The Walled-Off Hotel” – located next to the wall which separates Israel from Palestinian territories in Bethlehem. Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist Flea and film composer Hans Zimmer are also slated to perform a pre-recorded gig in the hotel’s piano bar, where an unmanned piano will play music in the style of HBO’s Westworld. Check out Elton John performing in the piano bar below.

The hotel is set to begin taking online bookings at the end of March. “The Walled-Off Hotel” is Banksy’s most recent project since last year’s dystopian amusement park “Dismaland”, where Run The Jewels, Savages, Pussy Riot, Massive Attack, and more performed. Funnily enough, rumours circulated last fall that the cheeky political street artist’s civilian identity is Robert Del Naja, one half of Bristol trip-hop duo Massive Attack, which Del Naja denied, proclaiming “We are all Banksy!” Coincidence that he will be present for Banksy’s latest project? We shall see…
