French label agnès b. announces its new publication — WHQ — a book of photographs by New York artist Craig Costello.

Featuring portraits of over 50 artists and friends who visited the Krink studio from 2014 – 2017, referred to as “The WHQ,” — the 96-page book is a glimpse into a culture of creatives, showcasing their style and personality. Each photograph was made in front of the studio’s door, which became the established set. Serving as a collaborative canvas as well, the colorful door is curated by Costello, which features marks left by friends invited to write and draw using Krink markers. The door, now a completed work, will be installed and on view at the agnès b. Galerie Boutique in NYC starting this Thursday, April 6 until Sunday, May 28, 2017.

Additionally, agnès b. and Krink will release three limited edition T-shirts and one tote bag as part of the agnès b. Artists T-shirt collection — a collaborative series established in 1994 that includes artists such as Félix González-Torres, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Harmony Korine. The T-shirts and tote bag incorporate designs made with Krink markers to original art work by Costello.

Accompanying the installation and release is a new limited edition sticker: WHQ (Wall Vinyl), 2017, ink jet on adhesive vinyl, 83 x 40 inches, edition of 20 and a unique 1:1 representation of the door, WHQ (Wall Vinyl) with a trompe l’oeil effect. Furthermore, a selection of new works on paper by Costello will be exhibited alongside the release of WHQ and collaboration with agnès b.

Open to the public, the opening reception with a performance by Boy Harsher — a dark electronic duo producing gritty dance beats infused with ethereal voices — will will take place this Thursday, April 6, 6 – 9 p.m. at agnès b., located at 50 Howard St., NYC.
