The first trailer for Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson's new buddy comedy, The Hitman's Bodyguard, has finally dropped.
Reynolds plays the world's top bodyguard, tasked with protecting Samuel L. Jackson, a hitman who has to testify at the International Court of Justice. Things don't seem to go smoothly, however, as the trailer begins with Jackson laughing at the idea of Reynolds being his bodyguard - which, to be fair, is a pretty understandable reaction.
It only gets worse from there, with the duo narrowly escaping numerous attacks from various assassins while constantly bickering like a very expletive-heavy old married couple. Whitney Houston's "‘I Will Always Love You" plays in the background, drawing hilarious parallels between these two and Houston and Kevin Costner in the 1992 film The Bodyguard, while Jackson screams "motherfucker" at least three times. Watch above.
The Hitman's Bodyguard will hit U.S. theaters on August 18.
