ASICS Tiger is injecting some more color into its footwear offering with the Gel-Kayano Trainer Knit "Space Dye” which launches alongside a video with London-based creative Daniel Pacitti.
The video is part one of a four-part miniseries examining cultural curators, creatives, and influencers from around the world. I am self. I am tribe explores what style means to individuality and what it is to be part of a tribe. Having previously launched Together We Rise, this series tells the next part of the story.
Daniel Pacitti is a stylist, photographer, model and all-around creative from London. For the first installment of I am self. I am tribe, ASICS visited Daniel's home city to find out what makes him unique, where he gets his inspiration, and how he fits into his tribe.
"Space Dye" isn’t the first time the brand has used a knitted upper on the Gel-Kayano silhouette but it might be the most audacious. The bold, multicolored knit upper is made of a single thread and has a typical sock-like fit. It's encased in a branded black cage with heel counter and beneath sits a contrasting white outsole. The multicolor effect is created by dying a single thread multiple colors producing a striking aesthetic and unique color collage.
