banksy cheap Get An Original Banksy Print For £0.01

In case you are interested in getting an original, signed Banksy print for as little as £0.01, then you should read on. Artichoke and Braham got together for this initiative and it is certainly an interesting idea.

“Brahma and artichoke have joined forces to beat the Credit Crunch. We believe that these tough economic times should not affect your art collection – so you can buy an original Banksy print for only 1p here.

To ensure the process is completely democratic and not just a case of ‘fastest finger first’ you will need to click on the ‘register for 1p Banksy’ button at the bottom of this page to get your chance to buy the Banksy for 1p.

You will be allocated with a registration number which will be entered into a draw at a secret location in central London on the 27th of March; should your number come up, you get the Banksy for 1p.” Via Highsnobette.

The “Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill” By Banksy

village pet store banksy nyc 1 The Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill By Banksy

UK artist Banksy once again surprises by opening quietly in New York these past days the “Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill” store front.

“There are no puppies or kittens in the windows here. Instead, a live leopard lounges on a tree in the window. McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets sip barbecue sauce. A rabbit puts on her makeup. A CCTV camera nurtures its young. Once inside Banksy’s pet store, you discover such things as breaded fish that swim in a large round bowl while hot dogs are living the high life under heat lamps in cages near the cash register.

A clear departure form last year’s behemoth show in Los Angeles, Banksy’s first ever show in New York City (the others have been fakes) is being held in a tiny storefront that’s less than 300 square feet and can’t hold more than 20 people at any one time.

One of our favorite things about what Banksy has done is that the entire show is completely visible to the public both day and night through the store front windows. And unless you’re a hard core Banksy fan, or until someone like us tells you, it’s absolutely impossible to know that the work has been done by Banksy. There are no paintings or graffiti in the entire space.” Via Wooster Collective.

Banksy strikes to impress once again. The store is located at 89 7th Avenue between West 4th and Bleeker Street in the West Village of New York City. Should you be in the are make sure to pass by.

After th jump more images of Banksy’s “Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill” as well as a video.

biggest banksy piece to date - highsnobiety
Artist Banksy created recently his biggest piece to date in central London.
“Banksy pulled off an audacious stunt to produce what is believed to be his biggest work yet in central London.

The secretive graffiti artist managed to erect three storeys of scaffolding behind a security fence despite being watched by a CCTV camera.
Then, during darkness and hidden behind a sheet of polythene, he painted this comment on ‘Big Brother’ society.” Via Daily Mail.

Santa’s Ghetto in Bethlehem

santas ghetto by banksy
Santa’s Ghetto is a low-cost art event, that has some pretty big names in it. This year (as reported earlier by us) they went to Bethlehem opposite the Church of the Nativity to put their art on the walls.
Participating artists were this year Banksy, Kelsey Brooks, Ron English, Swoon, Blu, Aiko, 3D and many others. There is a dedicated website of the event, showing lots of pictures of the art and the environment that is was created in. It definitely a very impressive art project.
They also released limited edition prints by some of the artists, including Banksy and Kelsey Brooks, but you have to hurry to get one of those!
