Hanksy Hits Chicago - Houston We Have A Problem

Since earlier this year, Hanksy pops up all over the place, usually presenting ironic takes on Banksy pieces. That was also the case with his last artwork, which was recently spotted in Chicago. Just the other day we presented the Banksy ‘Skywriter Plane’ artwork. Here is now Hanksy’s ‘Houston We Have A Problem’ version of the piece.

Banksy 'Cardinal Sin' Sculpture at Walker Art Gallery

More new Banksy work keeps popping up. Today news come in that the British artist has placed the ‘Cardinal Sin’ sculpture at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

“The piece, made in response to the child abuse scandals that the church seems to be known for these days, features a face taken off and replaced by blank bathroom tiles. Banksy noted in a statement, “:I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one.” The sculpture sits next to religious works dated from the 17th Century.”

Take a more detailed look at the sculpture after the jump.

New Works from Banksy - No Stopping Rats & More

It looks like Banksy is really busy these days. Not only has the artist confirmed all the previous speculations on new work of his, but he also presents several other works that had not popped up yet.

Next to the ‘No Stopping Rats’ sign, the artist also presents the oestrich bird CCTV piece and another font piece, reading “You Don’t Need Planning Permission To Build Castles in the Sky”. As usual the artist makes strong ironic statements on society with his smart art work.

Check out his latest works after the jump.

7 Union x Banksy Caps

It looks like Japanese cap company 7 Union has officially collaborated with Banksy on a series of caps. We have to admit that we are a little surprised, as Banksy is not the guy to really do product collaborations. They present a series of snapback caps and trucker caps, featuring some of the most iconic artwork of the UK artist. Each cap comes in a series of colors and a release is scheduled for early November 2011.

The Occupy London Movement has received a nice gift in the form of a sculpture from none other than artist Banksy it seems. The artist presents his take on the Monopoly game with Uncle Pennybags looking for a handout. The artwork is standing at St.Paul’s Cathedral as a show of support for the protest against corporate greed and corruption.

‘Banksy: Myths & Legends’ Book

'Banksy: Myths & Legends' Book

Hardly any artist has amassed so much myth, so many legends and gossip about himself, than UK graffiti artist Banksy. A new book will be released in November, Banksy: Myths & Legends, in which author and journalist Marc Leverton has collected myths, legends and stories about the artist, by talking to his surroundings, mostly in his hometown of Bristol. It took the author almost 3 years to get all the material onto paper.

“For me these stories illustrate the incredible audacity, originality and sheer bloody mindedness of Banksy. Obviously he will be best remembered for his art and exposing the hypocrisy and dumbness of our modern lives. The myths will be viewed as a distraction to some or part of the appeal for others. One thing is certain, the art and the myths are both larger than life and stick two fingers up at conformity. This book is a celebration of that anarchic, rebellious spirit.”

Look out for a release on Amazon, November 2011.
