Editor’s Notes: Summer may still a few months off, but the optimists at adidas are giving us a sweet reminder of the good things to come once the temperatures climb with the ZX 8000 “Frozen Lemonade”.

The latest drop in adidas' A-ZX series, this summery take on the retro runner is an ode to the refreshing beverage as well as to the popular ZX colorway, “Citrus”, which has been revisited a number of times since it first appeared in the late 80s.

The citrusy colorway features a mixed-material upper boasting various shades of yellow complemented by mint green and white accents. When it comes to beverage-inspired details, adidas has gone all out. There are translucent, ice-like rubber lace jewels, ice-cube printed sock-liners, and custom "Frozen Lemonade" tongue tabs where the zeros of ZX 8000 have switched out for lemons.

Finally, to tie it all together, a frozen lemonade recipe is printed on the footbed because, after all, what’s the point in wearing lemonade-inspired kicks if you can’t be sipping on an ice-cool glass of it too?

This release is part of adidas’ A-ZX program, a series of 26 ZX sneakers dropping throughout 2020-21. To see what’s dropped so far and what’s coming next, head here.
