Highsnobiety

The age of quarantine is a brave new world for fashion editorials. Putting our best foot forward, we sent a box of some of our favorite trench coats of the season to someone we trust: Alton Mason. Read on to hear how he created the shoot on his iPhone from his home in Kansas.

My baby sister and I had too much fun creating this project together for Highsnobiety. Creating with the youth is so much... you’ll find yourself laughing like, wow, who is this young visionary — these ideas are epic? We took time agreeing on outfits and deciding where in our backyard to shoot. During this quarantine, my siblings and I have been feeling this spring energy and vibing in the nature; and Aniah choose to capture that and bring those elements into the story.

The clothes felt loose, free, and had a body of their own, so we felt they should live amongst the trees and nature outside the cribo. Now, Aniah is usually the one taking photos of me for Instagram, but her energy evolved and ideas were more vivid, given the freedom to shoot for Highsnobiety. Lil sis loves the camera.

Shooting this with her confirmed my realization on how important it is to stay creative and active during this time. We're blessed to be in an environment that gives us that freedom, for not everyone has that at this time. I'm praying the world heals well and soon, and also hope to see more young creatives and visionaries in our future realm.
