That’s a meteoric rise and a stat that really makes an impact. But, when you think about the amount of popular Jordan models available, it begins to make more sense. It got us thinking about which Jordan models are the most popular and, after fervent discussion, we decided that the Nike Jordan 4 deserved much more praise than it gets.
Of course, the Nike Jordan 4 is one of the major players of the franchise but can it really be said to rival the heights of the Jordan 1 or Jordan 3? Probably not, but by no fault of its own. Military Black
Military Black is by no means a head-turner, but it's a really nice place to begin our journey into the world of the Jordan 4. Finished in simple white, black, and grey, this is less an attention-grab and more a celebration of the Jordan 4 design itself.
Canyon Purple
On the other end of the spectrum, Canyon Purple makes a splash. The purple and green color palette definitely calls for attention but not because it's bold and brash, simply because it's perfectly matched. Combine the harmonious palette with an upper built from beautiful hairy suede, and you're onto a winner.
Lightning (2021)
Originally hitting shelves back in 2006, the Nike Jordan 4 Lightning is one of the most loved Jordan 4 colorways in the archive. That's why its August 2021 Retro release generated a lot of hype. While much of that hype has died down over the past year, you'll still be looking at a 55 percent price premium to secure this pair.
Paris Saint-Germain
Jordan Brand has a fruitful relationship with football team PSG. Having previously collaborated on the Jordan 1, 5, and 6 silhouettes in the past, it was high time in October 2020 that the Nike Jordan 4 got some love, too. Bordeaux hits to the midsole, eyelets, and heel complement a simple white & black backdrop.
Black Cement (2012)
In the Jordan archive, some colorways will always hold more weight than others. Black Cement is one of them. A red outsole combines with signature grey and black for an unmistakable finish that screams Jordan Brand. Not only is Black Cement a part of sneaker history, but it's also a really versatile colorway for styling.
KAWS
Arguably one of the best Jordan releases in the last 10 years, the 2017 Jordan 4 KAWS saw renowned artist KAWS refit the silhouette with plush grey suede and a transparent outsole. This pair still comfortably fetches a four-figure fee.
Black Canvas
While some Jordan silhouettes can err on the side of boring when they're given understated colorways, the Jordan 4 and its detailed uppers don't risk that. Take this minimal pair fitted with black canvas uppers. They're hard-wearing and easy to style, perfectly framing the mesh inserts and complex lacing system of the design.
University Blue
Few colors mean more to Jordan Brand than University Blue. The baby blue hue nods to Jordan's Alma Mater, the University of North Carolina. But, as well as being a personal colorway, the baby blue also makes for a striking sneaker.
UNION
August 2020 saw the release of the UNION collaboration which rightfully caused a stir in the sneaker world. Fun details like the folded tongue rounded out a handful of amazing colorways but few proved as versatile as the Off Noir colorway. A pale yellow sole unit set the stage for a black upper and colorful hits to the lacing system and collar.
White Oreo (2021)
There's a lot to be said for keeping things clean. Immaculate white and grey is the name of the game for White Oreo, which hit shelves in March 2021. The white backdrop perfectly frames the red embroidered logo to the tongue.
