When electronic duo Chase & Status linked up with indie pop outfit Blossoms for a single titled "This Moment" last month, the result was something of a rising British artist clash of the titans. Resulting from a random studio run-in, the track ended up being a seamless blend of the two groups' respective sounds. And now, making its premiere here on Highsnobiety Music, comes a striking visual to match. Watch it below.
Speaking on the partnership, Chase & Status said that “It was a privilege working with such a talented and hard working band as Blossoms. It’s always a challenge to collaborate with another act but this was easy.” Blossoms meanwhile, summed up the track in a way that could not possibly get more succinct: “The collaboration came together really quickly and naturally. It was a good buzz to step out of my comfort zone. I believe the kids call such tunes ‘fucking bangers’.”
The visual, directed by Joshua Osborne, is a continuation of a documentary series on modern gypsy culture in London. It follows 19 year-old boxer Gary Hearne as he prepares for a match and interacts with his real life family, lending the video an air of authentic intimacy.
Catch Chase & Status at London's Lovebox Festival on July 15 and Blossoms at Glastonbury on the 29.
