Editor's Notes: Saucony has been digging into archives a lot and it's found some absolute gems.

The American brand has been pushing the limits of performance footwear since 1898 so has a vast history to explore and its brought back bangers such as the ProGrid Triumph 4, which you might recognize from an exclusive pair released earlier this year by Highsnobiety, or the Grid Azura 2000, an end of the millennium release that predicted what the future of sneakers holds.

Now, it's also bringing the Grid Shadow 2 back into limelight and it's doing so with the help of some collaborators.

The sneaker was initially brought to the market as a performance running shoe and has found itself being circulated online thanks to a colorful variation teased by Jay Tipps and a hiking-ready pair created in collaboration with Colour Plus Companie, which is now dropping after being teased during Paris Fashion Week.

Scheduled to release on August 11, the collaboration has a sandy brown colorway and durable fabrication inspired by Saucony's vintage 'The Trekker' boot and beach trails.

This makes for a hiking-ready sneaker that utilizes Saucony's technical know-how, further expanding the hiking sneaker market which has seen many strong drops recently (we're looking at you Moncler x Salehe Bembury and HOKA) — because who doesn't love functional footwear?

It's also not the only drop that the duo has up its sleeve, being only the first of three Grid Shadow 2s that Colour Plus Companie has lined up.

With another two pairs expected to release later in the year, the New York-based brand headed by multi-disciplinary creative Jordan Page is at the fore of bringing back the Grid Shadow 2.
