Commonwealth

With established locations in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Manila, Philippines, men’s lifestyle boutique Commonwealth has opened its newest store in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the home of Pharrell's Something in the Water festival. The Virginia Beach space is seemingly a natural progression for cofounders Larry Incognito and Omar Quiambao, as they both are native to the coastal city.

Commonwealth Virginia Beach is located in the Town Center area, offering brands across street, fashion, and sportswear categories to the creative community of Hampton Roads. Ranging from classics and cult favorites to newer players, the Virginia flagship carries Needles, COMME des GARÇONS, Aimé Leon Dore, Dime, Brain Dead, and Noon Goons, for example, in addition to the namesake Commonwealth brand. The store will also showcase various collaborations and special sneaker projects.

“Our wide assortment of offerings is synonymous to the vibrant culture of Hampton Roads as a whole,” says Incognito. “We are excited to offer our unique perspective on men’s style through apparel, footwear, and accessories to this thriving area.”

Commonwealth has been bringing a carefully curated selection of designers, artists, and photographers to customers dating back to its inception in 2004. Now, those residing in the Virginia Beach area, and anyone passing through, can take advantage of the diverse assortment of menswear.

Designed by Los Angeles-based design studio wrk-shp, the 2,000-square-foot space is open to the public now.
