Highsnobiety

With winter waning and spring on the horizon, it's time to trade in our remote controls for hiking boots and explore the great outdoors. Hiking offers the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate both mind and body amidst nature's splendor. Whether you're wandering through an alpine landscape or traversing the often equally treacherous urban ones,  Dolomite's new capsule collection, Saxifraga, is going to be your go-to gear for every adventure.

The strength in building your perfect outdoor look comes from the fact that few other brands are as deeply rooted in the Italian Dolomites, home to some of the most premier hiking routes in the entire world. The Italian designer brings together more than a hundred years of expertise in crafting and manufacturing top-tier outdoor footwear and clothing.

The new Saxifraga collection takes its name from a genus of small flowering plants, that make their habitats among the high-elevation, rocky Alpine outcrops and whose diverse, colorful flowers inspired the motifs of the collection. The flower's resilience serves as inspiration for their inaugural exclusive capsule, which seamlessly merges footwear and apparel to defy traditional boundaries, as part of the brand's steadfast dedication to both quality and avant-garde design research.

Saxifraga isn't merely a collection—it's a bold redefinition of Dolomite's legacy, infusing it with unexpected twists and reaching out to a new audience of outdoor enthusiasts eager for adventure and escapes. With a variety of new pieces embodying the aesthetic of "Quiet Outdoor," the collection demonstrates Dolomites' grasp of both elegance and functionality. Saxifraga marks just the initial stride in the brand's journey to unite diverse sports enthusiasts and revolutionize outdoor fashion.

The collaboration came together from cooperation between design studios Temp Studio and Rayon Vert, whose shared given gave rise to the Saxifraga Capsule Collection. Rayon Vert®, a European design agency focused on outdoor clothing, was born out of the aspiration to craft tools and exchange knowledge with like-minded individuals engaged in field-tested designs. Temp Studio, a graphic design studio, contributes its expertise to various projects such as visual identities, creative direction for brands, and digital identities, making it an integral part of this creative endeavor.

All in all, the Saxifraga drop is another chapter in a long history of Italian outdoor wear excellence for Dolomite; the new designs we’re experiencing with this drop are a significant step from tradition while staying true to the rich heritage that the brand is known for.
