If you're still asking what a fidget spinner is at this point, then you obviously haven't been paying attention. Arguably one of the biggest pop-culture crazes of the past five years, the fad toy's place in folklore has been cemented beyond doubt thanks to an absurd sketch by the Saturday Night Live gang.

The spoof advert centers around a luxurious Cartier incarnation of the toy, which exasperated boyfriend Ben Beckett gifts to his highly irritating girlfriend (played by the outgoing Vanessa Bayer) as a means of keeping her distracted. Beckett can't break up with her "because the sex is so good."

Reading slightly deeper, it's a not-so-subtle swipe at adults who've become involved in the craze, with the cast pouring scorn on its stress-relieving capabilities ("designed to calm her because she, quote, has anxiety”) while alluding that only the dense and easily pleased would be engrossed by such a gadget. Watch it below.

Savage stuff.
