Highsnobiety

Who doesn’t love a good tote bag? Whether you’re going to an event, to the shops, or to work, totes are the ultimate all-encompassing vessel for your belongings. Recent years have seen more places and spaces creating totes as an homage to their identities, from museums and restaurants to designers and cities — so it’s no surprise that bag-guru MCM has launched its own iteration.

To honor its town of birth, Munich, and tell the story of its brand beginnings, MCM has created the München Tote. Coming in two styles, the Visetos monogram and a luxury leather version, both totes are of different sizes and offered in a variety of eye-catching colors, ideal for welcoming spring and summer. The München tote in Visetos comes in the iconic MCM cognac shade as well as white, pink, soft pink, grey, beige, and ruby red, while the Nappa leather bag is a bit more bold, coming in vibrant yellow, green, and cognac.

An ode to the birthplace of MCM, the München Totes capture the monumental spirit of the Bavarian capital. Inspired by luggage designs from the brand’s archive, the Nappa leather corners evoke the jet-setting heritage of the Haus, whilst the structured form, spacious compartments, and removable pouch on the Visetos Tote builds on this idea of travel, perfect for short or long journeys. Keeping its love of handsfree movement at its core, MCM's München Tote has a removable leather strap as well as permanent handles, whilst the Nappa leather version has a woven two tone strap. And for that added luxurious touch, apart from the clean suede finish, the metal hardware is all 24k gold-plated — so you’ll truly be traveling in style.
