What We’re Saying: This year marks the 20th anniversary of N.E.R.D.'s celebrated debut album, In Search of.... To commemorate the occasion, adidas has teamed up with go-to collaborator Pharrell to release a thematic take on the NMD Hu, ultimately honoring P and his bandmates, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley.

While some have deemed the pair underwhelming, fans of neutral colorways should be fairly pleased. The sleek adi silhouette appears in a light-colored beige Primeknit, with teal, baby blue, and peach accents implemented throughout. Signaling the collaboration, the band name is embroidered in English on the midfoot of the right shoe and in Japanese on the left. N.E.R.D.'s brain logo and a commemorative "20" are then applied to the heels, the latter of which is a nod to the 20th anniversary of In Search of.... The Boost midsole below is done up in its standard white, making way for teal and baby blue-colored outsoles. Added pops of color are featured in the interior in blue and peach shades.

When the celebratory NMD Hu leaked earlier in the year, many expected it to release in March, seeing as In Search of... arrived on March 12 of 2001. Months removed, however, we finally have a release date of August 6 for the pair. While you wait for the drop, you can take a look at nine Pharrell x adidas shoes that have aged as well as the man himself.
